Writing Samples

I look back at the articles I wrote for my university’s newspaper, The Montclarion.

Starting with my first opinion article on hair confidence, titled “Embrace Who You Are“.

My second article is my first feature article highlighting a small mom and pop grocery store focused on plant based and healthier grocery options, titled “In the Market for Something Healthy?”.

My third article I worked on another opinion article just in time for Earth Day, titled “Project: Save the Planet“.

My fourth article I wrote is my first entertainment piece, based on the movie Someone Great. The love I had for the symbolisms, heart-wrenching raw truths of what it looks and feels like when one chapter closes and a new one opens, this article is titled, “[Someone Great] Is a Netflix Film Actually Worth Watching“.

My final piece I worked on as a contributing writer is titled, “What You Need to Know About the New University College Fellowship Program“.

Thank you for taking the time to read my articles, please share, like, and comment your thought!

Have a great day!

Final reflection

My Spring semester has finally ended and throughout this semester a whole lot has happened. Much of which really opened my eyes and help me understand myself a lot more. However, I walked into my Multi Media class wanting to learn as much as possible. In the end I feel very proud of what I could do with all the changes that I had to adapt to.

My favorite lessons that I learned were the photo editing and podcast. I’ve always thought about how I can go about that hobby and see if I can find a career in it. Luckily with the instructions my professor taught us. I feel very confident with my entry level skills and understanding of Adobe Bridge and Adobe Premiere Pro. One assignment in particular that I am happy to show off is the day I shadowed the French Pastry Chef. He was about to pour a frosting topping on the cake and it had a very dark color that made for a perfect reflection.

I hope for those who took the time and go through my content enjoyed what you found here! Stay safe!

SELF-PORTRAIT

Hi everyone this is a self-portrait of me, Madine. I’m currently a second semester sophomore at Montclair State University, taking a multi-media class. I go by my middle name because when I take off in my career I want to have another identity in my work. In my self-portrait I’m posing with my favorite diffuser, since I love to take care of my curls.
